Changelog
What changed in each release. To update, run the newer installer from the download page; your data is kept. Releases before 0.13.0 came out under a working name and are not listed.
0.15.1 — 2026-10-31
- A paid plan is a licence to use Datronome, not a purchase. When a licence ends (after the paid period plus 7 days), the paid features really stop: pipelines beyond the free plan's 5 are paused (never deleted) and Settings → Plan says so, and on a team server only the owner can sign in, to renew. Renewing turns everything back on. The agreements and pricing page say this plainly; owners are asked once to accept them (version 2026-10-31).
- Support now has its own address: support@datronome.com.
0.15.0 — 2026-10-31
- Flowcall is now Datronome. Same product, new name (another company already uses "Flowcall"). Updating keeps your pipelines, data, licence and backups; the Start menu and desktop icons are renamed, old desktop shortcuts still work, and scripts can use DATRONOME_WORKDIR (FLOWCALL_* and CADENCE_* still work). Owners are asked once to accept the agreements with the new name (version 2026-10-30).
- A quality check or approval now really uses the file it shows as chosen (it could show one and run with none). Risky confirmations (Quit, Delete) start on Cancel. Viewers see the Examples' Add buttons switched off with the reason. When the free plan's 5 pipelines are in use, the message says how to make room.
- The agreements and policies pages read cleanly (wrapped lines no longer broke the bullet lists). Refunds are stated one way everywhere (within 7 days of first use), and so is the grace period after cancelling (7 days). The Terms and Privacy Policy say this, and that Hugging Face may route assistant requests to a partner provider; owners are asked once to accept the updated agreements (version 2026-10-29).
- Approvals survive a restart. If Datronome closes while a request is waiting, the request stays open; when someone decides, the run carries on where it stopped. Runs that were working when Datronome closed say plainly that they need to run again, and Quit and Restart tell you exactly what will stop first.
- Missed scheduled runs catch up. A run missed in the last 6 hours while Datronome was closed or the computer was asleep runs once when Datronome opens; older misses are listed in the Activity log.
- Clearer failures. A failed quality check names the rule, how many rows fail and a few examples, and says what to do next; it is no longer retried, because retrying can't fix data. A Python error starts with one plain sentence. A failed run opens with a short summary and buttons to edit the task or run it again.
- Nothing you type is lost. Edits made while Datronome can't be reached are kept and saved as soon as it's back, and closing the page with unsaved changes asks first. Error messages stay on screen until you close them.
- Easier to build. New tasks never land on top of each other and are linked after the selected task. A quality check after a Python step checks that step's output. Tasks can be reached and linked with the keyboard. In-app dialogs replace browser pop-ups, including a proper password box for resets.
- Invited people can set their own password at first sign-in (the Save button stayed greyed out).
- Viewers see read-only fields with a note on who can edit, instead of finding out when they try to save.
- Decision receipts open as a readable page, with the JSON one click away. The Renewal review example takes its value at stake from its own data.
- Works behind a reverse proxy (saves were refused as cross-site). Version history keeps one version per burst of edits.
- Licence server: a failed payment notice can be retried safely, the success page escapes what customers type, and a licence the server doesn't recognise no longer switches a customer's copy off.
- The Starter plan's assistant can be local or cloud with your own key, as the app has always allowed; the plan descriptions now say so.
- Website: product pictures at the top, the training videos play on the site, new Security, About and Compare pages, honest pricing (approvals are in the free plan; one price per company), the download page names the exact file you get, and a proper picture when the site is shared.
- PostgreSQL for team servers. Datronome can keep its records in a PostgreSQL database instead of the built-in file: set
CADENCE_DATABASE_URLin.env.tools/migrate_to_postgres.pymoves an existing install over, keeps every id, checks every table afterwards and never changes the original file. The single-PC install is unchanged. - With a database server, Settings → Backups explains that the server's own backups protect the records, instead of offering file backups that wouldn't include them.
- Fixed: the account recovery tool now works when the records are on a database server.
- A clearer website. The home page now says what Datronome does in four numbered steps, answers the common questions on the page, and ends with a clear next step. The download page starts with three steps and keeps all nine installer screens one click away, with a link to the published checksum. On phones the menu no longer touches the screen edge. Paid plans offer a way to get in touch until online buying opens.
- Security review (details in docs/SECURITY-REVIEW-2026-10.md):
- Fixed: a web page you visited could reach Datronome through your browser under another name and, on a brand-new install, create the owner account before you did. Datronome now only answers to its own address; if you reach it by another name, add it to
CADENCE_ALLOWED_HOSTS. - Fixed: API tasks and webhooks can no longer reach a cloud server's metadata service (which hands out the server's credentials), not even through a redirect. Your internal and public APIs work as before.
- Licence server: the admin page now escapes everything customers type, refuses changes sent from other websites, locks out password guessing, needs a 16-character password, and neutralises spreadsheet formulas in the CSV export.
0.14.1 — 2026-10-28
- Fixed: Flowcall could fail to start on Windows when the Windows user name wasn't available to it (some services and scheduled tasks). Its key file was locked before Flowcall was given access; now access is granted first, by account ID.
- Fixed: the installer was missing the examples' sample files, so "Your first pipeline" failed with "not in Files" on a fresh install. Found by the new automated Windows install test.
- Every installer is now tested on real Windows before it's published: install, first run, the example pipeline, the desktop launcher, upgrading over a running copy (your data is kept) and uninstalling.
- The website is live at getflowcall.pages.dev.
0.14.0 — 2026-10-10
- A one-file Windows installer. FlowcallSetup.exe installs Flowcall like any other Windows program: Welcome, License Agreement, folder, desktop icon, Install, and "Open Flowcall now". Python and every component are inside, so there is nothing else to install, no internet needed during setup, and no administrator rights. Running a newer installer updates Flowcall and keeps all your data; uninstalling (Windows Settings → Apps) asks before deleting data. The zip and run.bat still work for IT teams.
- Daily backups. Settings → Admin → Backups: switch on a daily backup to a folder of your choice (OneDrive is suggested, so a dead disk doesn't take the backups with it), keep the last 7 to 60, or click Back up now. The database is copied safely while Flowcall runs. Saved passwords stay out of backups unless you choose to include them. To restore, close Flowcall and run restore-backup.bat; your current data is moved aside, never deleted.
- Download diagnostics. Settings → Admin → Help from support gives you a file to email to support: versions, settings with every password, key and token blanked out, the end of the log and recent failures. It never contains your data or passwords.
- Manage billing. Paid plans bought online now have a Manage billing button under Settings → Plan (change card, invoices, cancel), as the policies describe.
- The Privacy Policy names Cloudflare as the website's host (agreements version 2026-10-10; owners are asked once to accept the update).
- A website. Flowcall now has a website: home, product tour, features, every example, the guides, download (with plain install steps, including what to do when Windows says "Windows protected your PC"), pricing, the agreements and this changelog. It sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites. Buying still goes through the licence server; its old pricing and legal pages forward to the website once it is live.
0.13.0 — 2026-10-09
- Cadence is now Flowcall. "Cadence" is also the name of Uber's open-source workflow platform and of a large software company, so the product has a name of its own: Flowcall ("run the flow, make the call"). The new name appears everywhere you see it: the window, the desktop icon, emails, the website, the guides and videos. Your pipelines, history, settings and licence are untouched. Scripts can use
FLOWCALL_WORKDIR,FLOWCALL_LIBRARYand so on, and the oldCADENCE_*names keep working. - Customer agreements. Flowcall now ships a Customer License Agreement, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (in
legal/, at/legal/...and on the website). The person who creates the first account accepts them with a checkbox, and who accepted, when and which version is recorded. When the agreements change, the owner is asked once to accept the new version. Subscribing on the website needs the same tick, and the agreed version is kept with the payment. These are drafts for a lawyer's review. - New examples. Every example, sample file, course and training video now uses a subscription-software company: signups and activation, payments, usage events, renewal review, budget allocation, churn risk, support staffing, a billing inbox and integration health. All 13 videos were re-recorded.
- Sorting works everywhere. Click any column header in a table (in Explore and on a dashboard) to sort it smallest first, then largest first, then back to file order. The sort covers every row in the file or warehouse table, not just the 200 shown, and a table saved with a sort keeps it.
- A to Z is now what people expect: case doesn't matter and numbers sort by value ("Plan 2" before "Plan 10"). There is now a Z to A. Charts over dates can show oldest or newest first, and the chosen order always takes effect (before, some orders were silently ignored).
- New Dates by choice (automatic, day, week, month or year) for charts over dates.
- The chart builder shows only the settings that change the chart in front of you. A table offers "Sort by" (every column, both ways), a number tile offers "Good news is", a date axis offers "Dates by", a row count hides the column picker it doesn't use, and a scatter hides the measure it ignores.
- Arrange, redesigned. Press Arrange, then drag a tile by its ⠿ handle (a line shows where it will land) or use ◀ ▶. Set width (¼, ⅓, ½, ⅔, Full) and height (S, M, L, XL) with buttons that show the current size. Changes save as you go. Outside Arrange, tiles can no longer be moved by accident.
- Fixed (wrong numbers): averages counted blank and "n/a" cells as zeros, so a column with gaps averaged too low and disagreed with the same chart from a warehouse. Blanks are now left out, as in SQL. "Count distinct" no longer counts a blank as a value, and a total of nothing is 0 in warehouses as it is in files.
- Fixed: a number column with a stray "n/a" was treated as text, so it sorted alphabetically (100 before 9).
- Fixed: on a chart split into series, rows with no value in the split column formed a series wrongly called "sum of revenue". It is now called "(blank)".
- IP and licences. Flowcall now has its own licence (LICENSE: proprietary, all rights reserved) and a © line in Settings → Plan. THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md lists every open-source component with its licence. The bundled editor and chart code now ships the full MIT licence text each package requires (only the copyright lines were included before, and one bundled package was missing).
- The IBM Plex fonts now ship with Flowcall under their Open Font License instead of loading from Google on every page: no visitor data goes to Google, and Flowcall works fully offline.
- QA: a dashboard suite builds six dashboards that use every chart, measure, order, filter and arrange control, checks every number against a hand count, and uses each one in a real browser. The property tests now also compare file and warehouse charts with blanks, averages and distinct counts. A licence-hygiene test runs on every release.
